Eaglebine: Anadarko Completing Wells & Improving Performance

energent-eaglebine-permit-areaThe concentration this week is in the Eaglebine area in East Texas, which includes the counties of Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Robertson, and Walker. In the month of May, there were a total of 26 permits issued, with top permitting counties being Madison, with 8, and Burleson, with 5. There were 0 permits issued during the first week of June, although activity resumed this past week with 6 total permits. 2 of those were in Milam and Houston Counties, each, while 1 was in Burleson County.

Anadarko & Burk Royalty Active in Eaglebine

The most active permitting operators in the area in May were Burk Royalty and Anadarko. Burk Royalty permitted 4 vertical wells with depths of 13,000 feet in Madison County and has not permitted in June. Anadarko permitted 3 horizontal wells in Burleson County at 12,000 feet. Energy Exploration Partners gained 3 permits in Madison County, 2 of which were vertical and 1 was horizontal. So far in June, no operator has added more than one permit, with the fiver operators being Clayton Williams, Energy Exploration Partners, Bright Horizon Texas Inc., Betro Inc., and Richard Texas Tea Inc.

Clayton Williams’s latest completion in February in the Eaglebine area occurred in Burleson County, using about 942 pounds of proppant per lateral foot. They used a mix of raw sand and resin-coated sand provided by RSI on a lateral length of just over 6,000 feet. They also used 9 5/8 and 7 inch casings, with a 4 ½ inch liner from a depth of 6,200 ft to the TD of 12,829 ft.

Anadarko & Calfrac Increase Well Performance

Anadarko was actively permitting last month and is expecting to operate 1 rig while drilling 20 wells in 2015. They have ~92,000 net acres and over 1,000 drilling locations in their inventory. Their recent completion in Burleson County in March used 3,059 tons of 100 mesh white sand and 40/70 brown sand, provided by Calfrac, with 9.9 million gallons of water.

Within the Eaglebine area, Anadarko has been using Calfrac for 30% of their jobs since the beginning of 2014, with the rest being: Halliburton at 33%, Trican at 24%, FTSI at 9%, and RSI at 4%. They utilized raw sand for 94% of the jobs. On a Halliburton job in May of 2014, raw white sand was used in 100, 30/50, and 40/70 mesh sizes, along with the clay stabilizer Cla-Web and friction reducer FR-66 (from Halliburton).
